Bethany Wedding Reception (photos to come)

Yes another Bethany post. It is official, Bethany is no longer part of the dating scene. It was so wonderful to see her so happy all beautiful in her wedding dress.

Kyler had a great time with the buffet taking eclairs from Grandma.

I was so excited to catch up with some of the girls as well. Sara was in town from Oregon and Nellie seems as fabulous as ever.

Pampering Myself

As part of my birthday present, Blake gave me a gift card for a maternity massage at the Sego Lily Day Spa. IT WAS FANTASTIC!! I told him we might have to add that to our budget as a monthly expense. Thank you so much babe!

Monica's Birthday Part 2

So after rescheduling 2 or 3 times we finally went out to Tepanyaki for my birthday dinner back on the 22nd. Kyler was sick the week after my birthday when we were originally going to go and then he pasted it on to everyone else in the family. It is one of those places where they cook up your food on a big grill in front of you with all the spatula waving, smoke and fire.

I thought Kyler might enjoy the show but holding chopsticks was about as animated as he got. Little did we know he would wake up at 2 am the next morning with a 103 temperature and be miserable for the next week with hand foot and mouth disease. For those of you who don't know what that is or your kids have never had it, be very very grateful!! The poor kid couldn't eat for a week because the inside of his mouth was covered in open sores. He also wouldn't take naps and never slept longer than 2 hours at a time at night, which means mom and dad didn't sleep either. I'll just say that week wasn't the best at our house.

My Bethany is getting married!!

I am so excited for Bethany!! We have been friends since about the third grade and she is such an amazing person. I am so happy she found such a great guy that supports her in all her adventures.

Playing with Friends

Two weeks ago we went to dinner at a friends house. They have a cute little boy, Aiden, just a few months older than Kyler. They became friends in nursery so we decided to have a dinner play date. Kyler LOVED their backyard. They have an amazing swing set and this inflatable bouncer thing. We are so lucky to have met some wonderful people in our new area.

Thank You Dad!!

I just wanted to say thanks to my sweet parents who take such good care of me. Wed night I was tired after work and had no desire to cook dinner for my family, so instead of making them go hungry my dad took us all out to the Training Table for dinner. It is amazing how much they do for me with all the babysitting, dinners, and help fixing things in our new house. I really appreciate it!!

Monica's Birthday

So in true Monica fashion this was the first of two birthday celebrations. Karyn put together a birthday BBQ in their backyard. It was beautiful weather with lots of good food. Kyler had fun riding in the wagon with the dog and being in charge pulling the wagon himself.

I enjoyed my annual lemon meringue pie as a birthday cake substitute.

Shakespeare Festival

This is one of our few traditions. Every summer since I was 14 or so I've gone to the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City with my parents. When Blake came into the picture we started dragging him along. I'm not sure what he thought the first few years but I think he really enjoys it now. Our yearly attempt at culture has gotten harder the last few years with Kyler but I'm glad we've still been able to go. We're lucky to have my parents there to help us entertain him. I know Blake would really miss the delicious raspberry and cream cheese tarts. I think really he looks forward to those more than the plays.

Salt Lake Bee's Game

We wanted to take Kyler to a Bee's Game all summer and we finally made it the last week of the season. We started early taking Kyler to Spring Training the past two years so he loves to watch baseball. All other sports are called baseball. He dad is so proud of this.

The only bad part of the game is when the mascot made his way to our area of the stadium. Here is the cute and cuddly bee...

...And this is Kyler freaking out every time he looked up and saw him. Luckily we were about the eighth inning by then so he didn't suffer for too long.

Blake's Birthday

So back at the beginning of Aug. Blake had his 31st Birthday. I've just been a little slow about posting things lately. We met up with him at the Gateway after work and took Kyler for several rides (in a circle) on the Trax choo-choo train. He thought it was the coolest.

When everyone else arrived we sat down for dinner at the delicious California Pizza Kitchen. It was Kyler's first date with Kaiya. They shared some bread and I'm sure had a delightful conversation.
