Bear Lake Weekend

We spent the weekend in Bear Lake with my family. Kyler had a great time with all the cousins and went for his first boat ride. The hardest part was convincing him that he had to wear a life jacket. After that he was okay with the idea, just mellow with his fingers in his ears the entire time.
Blake showing us his wakeboarding moves. I was on camera and Kyler duty since I think it would be frowned upon to go wakeboarding while pregnant. Don't tell but I didn't go out on the jet ski for a little while. I had permission from a doctor (my brother) and made Blake take it slow.

Christian driving the boat.

Kyler with cousin Kacey playing in the toddler pool and on the beach. He loves the water and mostly wanted to play and splash in the big pool with the older kids. Water is the one area where he still has no fear.
Kyler did surprisingly well playing in the sand, given that he inherited his fathers trait for never wanting to get his hands dirty. He just came to mom every so often to have some juice and get his hands and face washed off.
This is about as far as he made it on the 4-wheeler. I was surprised he sat on it because he has always been afraid of Blake's dads. As soon as Laurie started to move forward he was done.

Kyler's Favorite Activity

A few weeks ago we took Kyler bowling with my family. We figured he would like it since it involves a ball and things crashing down. The video clip is from my camera so there is no sound but here is how it went down each time. Kyler pushes the ball, jumps up and down and squeals while the pins fall down, then runs to wait for his ball calling "come here ball" and slapping his leg like he's calling a dog.

You can see he did really well too. He beat the other kids and even most of the adults (I'm sure the bumpers helped a little). I know we'll be going again soon since every time we pass the bowling alley sign on main street he gets excited and starts yelling "bowling game, bowling game".

Random Stuff

Here are some random events and photos that I like and wanted to share.

One of Kyler's new tub activities is to fit as many toys as he can into his mouth or try and hide under them. The fun things that Grandma Karyn thinks up.
This is our cute friend Michelle and her fiance Frank. She moved from Seattle to Utah to go school and we are excited to have her closer. They came over for lunch a few weeks ago.
My favorite little boy with a bubble beard.
Grandpa Brad's Birthday!! Blowing out the candles with some help from Kyler.
Kyler doing one of he new favorite things COLORING. We have been lucky so far (knock on wood) that he only colors on paper.

1st Annual Toddler Party

A few weeks ago a sweet lady in our ward invited Kyler to a Toddler Party. I had no idea what a big event it was going to be and I am so glad I took Kyler. There were at least 30 kids there plus moms. She had set up face painting, sand boxes, water games and pools, sidewalk chalk and painting, a fish pond, playdough, bubbles, and other craft projects and I'm sure there was more I am forgetting. Of course for him the biggest hit was anything related to water.
His first experience fishing and he caught a new car.
He went down the little slide a few times but mostly just wanted to dump water on himself and giggle.
The first Kyler playdough creation. I was impressed that he never even tried to eat it.

I need to apologize for becoming one of those people who only posts once a month. It's not that we have nothing going on but quite the opposite. I have had the joy of working the past 3 Saturdays and being crazy busy at work leaves no time for blogging. Blake has been lucky to have clean (not ironed) shirts and cold cereal or pizza for dinner.

So what has been going on...
Blake started working the end of June which meant we needed a babysitter for Kyler. We feel so lucky to have found a wonderful lady in our ward that is licensed and everything. I had a hard time at first but after a couple days Kyler didn't want to come home he was always having so much fun. They put the sprinkler under the trampoline and he goes crazy. The kid cant get enough water.

Our adorable sister Brooke had a birthday the end of June. We went to Market Street Grill and I got in trouble for not ordering seafood. I wanted to but I had fish earlier that week and a pregnant gal can only take so much.

The 4th of July Bash

We always seem to be running from party to party for the 4th and this year was no different. We started with brunch at The Oaks with the Berretts.
Two adults and one toddler all looking and smiling. I don't think I'll ever get that again.
Then went over to Laurie's house for the Millward BBQ and pool party. Kyler getting the super soaker in the belly button. It was pretty cold but he loved it.
We left that before the food was served to join the extended Berrett clan at Barnes Park for more picnicing and socializing.Pretty much it was Blake and I trading off watching Kyler go down the slides for about 2-3 hours. We then went to my parents house to watch Davis fireworks on the front lawn. Kyler wasn't a big fan not because of the loud noise but because he keep saying they were too bright. He must have really sensitive eyes because he has a hard time just with the sun.
Kyler with his glow in the dark bracelets.

We miss Rachel

One of our great friends from Logan, Rachel, was in town from Virgina for a few days so we had a little Public Relations Reunion party for her. A few of Blake's school friends came over and we made lop. (BJ was there too because you can't have lop without him!)
Even Kyler really likes sticky rice.
It was so much fun to see everyone again. That same night our new furniture arrived so slowly our house is coming together. I've been intending to post photos of the new place but half the house has been without furniture so I think they will be coming in phases.
